Southern Rivers Dental was technically born in 2018. However, the roots of the practice started in 1999. Dr. Laney Smith, my mother, started her practice in Newnan all those years ago. I began working here when I was nine years old and frankly grew up in the practice. Even though our scope of practice differs, my mom and I still believe in the same core principles of how a dental practice should be run.

I am the sole owner of Southern Rivers Dental. Although that truth sounds trivial, it is vital to our success as a dental practice. The landscape of dentistry, like many industries, has changed greatly over the last decade. The greatest of these changes is the ownership structure of how a practice is run. We put our patients’ needs at the forefront of our business principles.

We have no “quota” of procedures that must be completed. Our philosophy is that our patients’ treatment plans are derived from only what the patients need and want. We then execute these plans with research-driven techniques to deliver the most optimal results. I know this sounds simple, and I believe that overcomplication causes major ethical dilemmas that can undermine the trust of the business.

We will always put patients first at Southern Rivers Dental, and those roots that started in 1999 will never change.
